Lenovo kicked off with the Smart TV innovation along with their Cloud-based data service. Lenovo has just issued a K91, intelligent TV based on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
As the world’s first smart TV that runs on Android 4 Ice Cream Sandwich, Lenovo aims to ‘unify the three main functions of the smart TV’ with Lenovo K91: Video on Demand, Internet applications and traditional television program. Lenovo custom applications and console-quality gaming will be available in Lenovo Store, which will be paired with the Android Market. The whole experience will be wrapped in the Lenovo UI Sandwich Intelligent.
The specification of Lenovo K91 Android TV is 55inches full-HD 3D 240Hz IPS panel. There are also SRS True Surround sound, 5MPx camera that supports face detection, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of storage and dual-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 8060.
The Lenovo decision to produce television sets powered by Android 4 instead of Google TV is an interesting thing. By using Android, they can completely customize the entire experience of watching TV, from the specific applications, until go down to the UI Smart Sandwich.
Just like Lenovo Idea Tab S2, Lenovo K91 will only be available in China at first, but we can wait for its release in other countries.
