Spark, Plasma Active UX linux tablet.

Spark is a kernel Linux-based tablet which has been awaited by the open source lovers, has begun to be marketed first time in Europe next week.

Spark is a 7-inch tablet, running the Plasma Active UX operating system, a kernel Linux-based OS, KDE’s multi-platform Plasma environment and a dash of Qt for good measure. The tablet is claimed to be suitable not only for regular use, but also perfect for those who like to make softwares by using Linux tools. Spark will be able to access ebooks from Project Gutenberg, and applications based on Qt and QML.


Spark has fair specifications; 1GHz dual core processor, Mali-400 GPU, 512MB of RAM, 4GB internal memory + SD card, a 7-inch 480 x 800 pixels display screen, 1.3 megapixel camera, two-port USB, and 3.5 mm jack audio.

Spark will be priced 200 Euros or about $260 in pre order starting next week. Unfortunately though it could be in PO, this tablet will be shipped starting in the month of May.
